6 Sep 2011 Know which primer size you need? Use this chart to compare vendors. 12, 16, 20, 410 Gauge Shotshell. CCI209, CCI209M. FD209. N/A. Primer charts are only relative to the powder that was used for the test. They may give you a false sense of being safe. If you do not want the spend the money having unpublished loads tested, just load one or two levels below the fastest load listed for the powder you want to use. Remington's Kleenbore 209 primer is different than its STS 209 primer. I am not sure exactly where it falls on the temperature scale, but it is cooler than the STS. Winchester only makes one 209 primer and its the W209. It just has a different wrapper for muzzleloaders. If you use a nobelsport primer in the shell and then try to re-load the same shell with a Win 209, the primer will fall out.
